No one will have more influence on your child than you! We believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church. It is our hope that we can partner with you from the very beginning. We want to be your biggest fans, your strongest supporters, and your trusted guides as you raise your child to know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

babyD is more than an event. It is a 3-step process that creates an opportunity for you to take some time at the beginning of your journey as a parent to really think about what will matter the most in the life of your child — to really talk together and decide what you value and what you can do today that will have the greatest impact on your child’s future.

In order to participate in babyD, you must:

  • be a member of our church
  • be a member of a LifeGroup
  • be serving with us as a volunteer on one of our ministry teams.

We understand, of course, taking a break from serving after the birth of a child is normal; however, we want you to jump back into service as soon as you (and your little one) are ready! We feel like these criterion are important as a first step for you as parents to understand what we believe and for us to truly be able to partner with you in the spiritual development of your child.

Our babyD Dedication will be held on May 5th, 2018 at 2:00 and the babyD Orientation will be held on April 8th.

Here’s the process:

flow chart

Step 1: Preparing the Parents
babyD is an event designed for parents of children two years old and younger. As part of the process to participate in babyD, we have intentionally compiled two short parenting messages that we feel will help you start right now, at the beginning, to do the things that will truly matter the most to you and your child in the future. The videos are posted below. This step must be completed before moving on to Step 2.

Step 2: Registration and Orientation
Once you have completed Step 1, you will need to register, then attend a short orientation in the Fellowship Hall. Unless you are a single parent or have extenuating circumstances, it is important that both parents attend this orientation. You MUST complete STEPS 1 & 2 before your baby dedication celebration is confirmed.

REGISTRATION for the next babyD Orientation in the Fellowship Hall is available. To ensure a special environment, babyD is limited to 12 children.

Registration for babyD has begun for the orientation to be held on April 8, 2018 at Noon in the Fellowship Hall.

We realize that your time is extremely valuable. We would not ask you to view these videos if we did not feel they would be time well spent. Please listen to these videos before your orientation. Also, please complete the Imagine The End Homework Card before your orientation.

Step 3: Dedication and Celebration
Now it’s time to celebrate! During the event on Saturday, May 5, 2018, 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Worship Center, we will create an intimate and memorable space to rejoice in the life of your child and their future. You will have 1 table for your family and friends which will seat 6-8 people. You are welcome to invite more people, and they are invited to sit in the rows next to your table.

Baby Dedication Celebration is about a commitment to put God first in your home and to trust in Him as your source of direction as you lead your family and parent your child. It is also a time for you and your spouse to share with your closest friends and family what is most important to you and to ask them for their prayer and support. Our desire is that you will surround yourself with family and friends who will pray for you, support you, give you good advice, listen to your struggles, and, when life gets tough, help you remember what matters most. We also hope that you will partner with us every Sunday by encouraging your child to fully participate with us as we create environments to lead him or her into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

It is also a time of CELEBRATION! A new baby has been born. God has created a new life in this world and that is definitely something to celebrate! You will enjoy cake and punch and take lots of pictures to mark this moment in time. We want you to create an unforgettable memory of the promise that you've made to lead your child in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ with the people who are there to pray for you and support you as you raise this child. The total event will last about an hour.

Is babyD infant baptism?
This event is not infant baptism. We believe that when people are old enough to understand what it means to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they should have the opportunity to make that choice for themselves. A preschooler is not able to understand sin, forgiveness, the sacrifice our Savior made for us, and what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This event is about your commitment to lead your child into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, so that as he or she gets older, you are able to guide your child and help him or her understand what that relationship means.

Is there a fee for babyD?

No. This special celebration is an investment of our church into the life of your family. It is made possible by the faithful and generous donations of our members and friends.

What should we wear?

Whatever you and your little one will feel most comfortable in. Some people dress casually, in jeans, while others dress more formally. It is up to you!

How will the church family be involved in babyD since it is on a Saturday?

We will share the photos and names of all children who are dedicated at babyD on Saturday in the Sunday services in a moment of celebration and prayer.

We are so excited to start this journey with you and your family! If you have any further questions, feel free to email Christie Hill.
