2010-2011 AWANA Year Begins
September 1, 2010
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
For Children who are 2 years old before September 1st
through the 6th Grade
AWANA is an acrostic that stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed.
This is based on the key verse of 2 Timothy 2:15; "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
At Fort Caroline, AWANA is our primary discipleship training program for children 2 years old - 6th grade.
We meet on Wednesday nights (during the school year) from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Our preschool children ages 2 to 5 (not yet in kindergarten) will go initially to their classrooms.
They will begin with an activity that will be followed by a Bible Story (often presented by puppets),
followed by a time where they work in a handbook containing memory verses,
then ending the evening with a time of play and refreshments.
Our older children, Kindergarten to 6th grade, begin the evening on the game square.
For this age grouping the evening is divided into three periods:
1. A fun filled active game time.
2. An age appropriate message.
3. Handbook section sign off.
What do most children say after the first time at AWANA?
"Can we go again next week?"
You can enroll your child(ren) in AWANA TODAY by completing a communication card,
calling the church office at 642-2288, or come and join us any Wednesday night beginning Sept. 1st!
We hope to see you there!!
